Hall of Ships

The main visitor hall provides a look at the maritime history of the Solent and the Hamble river. Here you will be able to watch leading historians delve into research around the commissioning of King Henry V’s great ship the Grace Dieu, and continue the drama of The Deeds of Henry V relating to the ship, then watch William Soper recount his memories of the Grace Die construction. After watching the videos there is an opportunity to step back in time to around 1418 and see the Grace Dieu in all its splendour with our VR Grace Dieu Experience.

The Hall of Ships’ future addition will feature the Holy Ghost, another contemporary Great Ship.
